Yes, the endless back and forth is absolutely pointless. I like apples. I like bananas. I like apples. I like bananas...

It's the most entertaining subject on this forum emoticon

Infinite doesn't do as much on this forum like NW!? Why!?
Not interesting or entertaining enough!?

So let's go back to The Endless Debate about current DP and Blackmore

its not so much a debate as an elder statesman trying to pass on his experience to a youngster and teach him the error of his ways emoticon I mean ptr is only 18 after all emoticon

Yeah, that's the eternal law of all those Blackmore haters. He was responsible for the Titanic sinking, but he hasn't contributed much to the fall-down of the Iron Curtain.

I don't see any "Blackmore haters" here at all. Only people with a more open mind than you. emoticon

I guess you know how the "Blackmore hater" thing was meant.

Myself I always try to see good and bad concerning all people that are and have been in DP, all their decisions, their musical output, their statements in interviews and everything that has to do with all that. For example, I never denied Gillan's contribution to the classic Mk II albums or Morse's abilities as a guitarist.

However, when someone else claims that the successful album were collective success but the less successful ones mainly the fail of the band leader, I wonder who's the narrow-minded one. But yeah, there are different opinions and will always be. Someone claimed that Blackmore has no relevance to current DP; you may expect from me that I try to understand such a point of view, but you cannot expect from me to agree. Every live setlist proves the opposite. I appreciate that they did shows with many Morse era songs, but I acknowledged that there were many others.

But I admit that Gillan's solo work doesn't interest me. If you consider that being a sign of narrowmindedness, I have to agree. emoticon

I also read the possibility of Joe Satriani, temporary replacing Steve Morse for the tour.

I like that. emoticon

It also says that Gillan's voice have deteriorated to the point of no return. This is sad, but let's hope for the best and his voice is okay.

Ahh, my fave dp albums are the same as yours. The classic mk I/II/III era albums but also CTTB, S&M, Purpendicular and the last two albums.

Ritchie have always been my all time guitarist and always will be. Dosen't mean I need to lick the ground he walks on.

I don't like Gillan solo either except AOP and some of IGB.

Some here definitely claims that Blackmore was the leader of purple musically, then they should also see the mistakes done by the "leader".
