WS after DC

this model has already been adopted by other bands , eg Blackfoot. Essentially the brand continues with a key/founding member approved replacement. I appreciate new territory but I can see working in some bands where there's less of a indentifiable key figure, and of course recent members stay and provide some continuity with the past. Going back a bit, with Pink Floyd for example it became evident post Waters that the brand was bigger than any individual members. so might not work with WS, however I wonder if this is something DC would consider,

To me WS after DC makes no sense. Just as TL without Lynnot makes no sense. I'd rather go see a tribute band to 10% the price, than a tribute band at 100% of the price.

Its like DP without Blackmore and Lord or The Who without Daltrey and Townshend or Queen without Freddie or The Stones without Jagger and Richards ,some band members are essential to make the band authentic.

I can't agree more. It would be like seeing the old Fifties groups on the public tv circuit and the oldies concerts. They do a nice job, but many of the original members are too old to perform or have passed.

Re: WS after DC

What about Rush without Geddy Lee?

Iron Maiden without Steve Harris?

Journey without Neal Schon?

Some bands lost their key members (imho), but still exsist and have recorded new music.

For instance

Kansas (without Kerry Livgren and Steve Walsh)
Styx (without Dennis DeYoung)

It’s unchartered territory but I guess if Queen can still tour, you don’t get much more iconic than Freddie. Why not WS and keep the great music alive, something in between an official tribute band and the originals. DC could be involved, guidance, management, [sign in to see URL]’s worth thinking about
