I've never liked this band. They are excellent musicians but I find their music boring. I went to one of their concerts in 1990 with a friend who was a big fan. I fell asleep.

Usually, Geddy Lee's vocals are a dividing factor. Personally, I love his melodies and his bass playing but I can see it being not to anybody's taste.

Never seen them in concert, and I guess it's too late [sign in to see URL] their music eventhough I have a gap in my knowledge from their mid- to late 80s albums + Snakes and Arrows:

1. Moving Pictures

2. 2112
3. Permanent Waves

4. Grace Under Pressure

5. Hemispheres
6. A Farewell to Kings
7. Signals
8. Rush
9. Clockwork Angels
10. Counterparts
11. Presto
12. Roll the Bones
13. Fly By Night
14. Caress of Steel

15. Test for Echo
16. Vapor Trails

I almost never listen to Test for Echo and Vapor Trails, overlong, boring albums, by far their worst that I know.

And as said before, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire and Snakes and Arrows I haven't heard apart from a couple of songs.

I only have four Rush albums and three of those are in your top 4.

Moving Pictures

2112

Grace Under Pressure

and also Counterparts.

Like them all very much.

Truly great band with one of the greatest trio of musicians to ever grace the rock world.I first saw them on the Moving Pictures tour in Edinburgh and have been to every tour since emoticon
To rate their albums is very difficult ! it depends on what mood I'm in as Rush went through several different periods throughout their careers and theres actually not an album that i don't like but some i love!!

so today it would be

1. Moving Pictures
2. A Farewell to Kings
3. 2112
4. Permanent Waves
5. Power Windows
6. Hemispheres
7. Signals
8. Grace Under Pressure
9. Hold your Fire
10. Rush
11. Fly By Night
12. Presto
13. Counterparts
14. Clockwork Angels
15. Roll the Bones
16. Snakes and Arrows
17. Vapor Trails
18. Test for Echo
19. Caress of Steel

tomorrow there would probably be a few changes emoticon

I was only able to acquire very few Rush albums, since I only listen to my 2-CD greatest hits, but the only albums I acquire and listened as a whole are the following and heres how I rate 'em.
1. Moving Pictures
2. Permanent Waves
3. Signals
4. Presto
....and now listening to my newest "2112"

How many "concept albums" did Rush released? I know "2112" is a concept album.
Anybody???

Well, actually it isn't! It contains a 20 minutes song, the title track, that took the whole of side A, but the rest, side B, is not related.
Same thing they did with "Hemispheres" and "Caress of steel"
The only proper concept album is the last one "Clockwork angels".

I'm currently reading Martin Popoff "Rush: album by album". Interesting overview of their discography, not a proper biography.
