Where did you get this!!!
Although I'm far from being an expert, I agree about the separation of instruments filling. Wich was not the case on the next albums in 80's. And there is something of the jazz on the album. I think it's all beacouse of Neil and Duck's way of playing.

That's a fantastic point. Its a topic of conversation we have in the pub all the time. Today we usually get the wall of sound and not the separation of sound, where the space is as important as the notes being played. Its the same with most things; cinema, telly and music. Technology allows people to let loose, so we get bombarded with sound, CG visuals and fast moving editing. Technology doesn't make things better, unfortunately.

Good point, compare Love hunter to 1987 for instance. I much prefer the former though you gotta consider the difference in sales!

Great studio log, interesting re Help me solo.....sounded Marsden like to me but stand corrected, must re listen. There ‘s a video for LWFH that of course we can all watch now, but back in the day, if a song didn’t chart i guess such promos might never see the light of day pre MTV etc.

Oh, sure, it's like day and night, to my ears. I never liked the production on 1987, for several reasons but primarly, where's Neil Murray's bass?

Agreed- this has got me in the mood for giving the album a spin at the gym after work today. I don't play these early WS albums that often these days, simply because I've played them to death over the years- but still enjoy them immensely when I do play them.

I'm sure DC once famously said that Lovehunter would have made a great EP. Presumably he meant there were only a few decent songs on it. That's difficult to agree with as Outlaw is the only track on the album that I think is below par.

yeah that's the comment I recall. totally disagree.....Outlaw is ok, You and me and RRW also weak-ish... the title tracks works for me in the studio but got tedious live. funnily enough I saw Snakecharmer in Leamington Spa a coupla years back and Moody was playing the same LH slide solo....

Re: Lovehunter LP

Came across the Medicine Man from Hammersmith 79 clip over the weekend, what a totally under rated Snake classic that is! The promo video for Long way from home has also come to light in recent years.

Apart from those two items, I’m not aware of any Love hunter lp/tour footage unless someone can correct me?
