Re:

I was never fan, in fact I couldn't stand his music... Careless Whisper still makes my skin crawl. But there's no denying he had a great voice and was an amazing talent.

He did a fantastic version of Someone To Love with Queen after Freddie died.

RIP

I definitely respected his talent and his voice, but I was never a fan. I dated a chick who loved him though and I had to hear him incessantly.

Like Celtic said, I really liked his version of Somebody To Love w/Queen (I really hoped that could've gone past just that one collaboration) as well as Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me with Elton.

Back in late 1996 when I was doing work in Pittsburgh, a George Michael special came on the TV and I decided to watch it. Just him on a stool doing all sorts of stuff. It was really good. I was never a fan of his music, but this showed off his talent and range. Good stuff from a fine talent.

This one! Always thought he had a range like Freddie and this confirmed it. Great version.

That's the one. Brilliant version. He had the same timbre as Freddie. I would have loved to have heard him singing more Queen songs.

I read years later in an interview with Brian that George's record label pretty much destroyed any chance of him doing anything with Queen.
