Ahh, gotcha. Idk, the way Ritchie was making it sound though, it was almost going to be a 90/10 split in favor of more Rainbow material. There's still a good chunk of Purple in there.

I'd imagine Glasgow might differ a little.....Lazy for example was on the setlist I believe. maybe this new song?

it wont happen but I'd prefer he goes back to the orchestra version of land and hope and glory.....that really sets the scene. was a bit limp in London, that build up.

Re: Rainbow - London 02 (Stone Free Festival) - June 17th 2017

Last year he changed things around a bit - actually, of the four gigs so far, the setlist has always had some changes.
In the second gig they introduced Sixteenth Century Greensleeves, then dropped that again, and played Burn and SOF, this time around they added IS, ANL - so it's fair to assume they will work on something else for the next gig whilst they are together.

Took a closer look to the YT videos now and have to say that it's much better than my first impression was. In some songs the band really is on fire. And they enoy it a lot, considering how often Ronnie and Bob are smiling. I guess that even some DP Mk nowadays fans who want to see friendly gentlemen on stage would enjoy it. emoticon

David Keith is an excellent drummer, much better than Chuck Bürgi. The problem with last year's shows was that the drums were too low in the mix and so the fine little things he puts in his playing weren't really audible. The half-time shuffle he plays in Mistreated is wonderful, much better than what Cozy Powell made out of this tune.

Ritchie of course has lost the eruptivity and unpredictability of earlier days, but his playing is still very taste- and soulful. The highlight guitar wise for me is Soldier Of Fortune - no wonder as he plays this on acoustic guitar on which he has had lots of practice during the last 20 years. emoticon But it's not just the playing technique, it's the heart and soul he puts in his melodies. And behind him the windmill is goung round, and the audience knows every word of the lyrics, as they did in Birmingham last year when I was among them - wonderful.

Of course there are some flaws, for instance the ending of MOTSM (iirc) isn't played properly. But that doesn't spoil the whole thing. What I find a bit disappointing is that the background singers are hardly audible. If you have background singers on stage, please let me hear them.

All in all I'd say it's a great show. Please come to Germany next year. emoticon

I thought Keith was outstanding in London, in particular his recreation of Cozys album take on All night long.
