I have been playing this a great deal recently and to my ears it is a superb album that deserved to be a hit. Heavy yes, but each song has something different to stop you getting bored. I usually tire of some of the samey Hughe's vocals but I think he is totally on top of his game and the over the top performance works on this.
If this was a BCC release it would have been a top ten album.
For me , this is probably the best Purple family release since the eighties.

I know Glenn doesn't like it but for me his best ever solo release was From Now On. Great songs, in particular Why Don't You Stay & Homeland and great playing from Europe! killer version of Burn even if the drummer isn't as good as IP.

I thing i'm more of a Soul Mover guy.

Oooo, is a "Rank the Glenn Hughes albums" thread afoot?

Should be interesting and not so obvious. Including bands and (main) sessions? Black Country, Iommi, John Norum, Phenomena, etc. or just GH albums?
