Whitesnake live in the 90's
Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues
Just found this. From the greatest hits tour of the late 90's?
How good is the drumming here compared to the butchering TA gives everything!

Re: Whitesnake live in the 90's
that was superb, the guitar playing too....much preferable to Reb or the other recent guys...

If only DC would have sung this well today.
Surprised that he sounded this good in the late 90s to be honest.

Done a bit more research. It's Moscow 1997. The whole gig is on youtube in sections in HD.

Strangely, he was receiving a lot of criticism for his voice at this point as well.

I think his voice at 1997 tour was maybe the worst in his carrier. It is far better even now, in my opinion. He was sick and sounded so desperate in the interview from after (or maybe before, I forgot) the Moskow show. That's a shame, beacouse I love the soound of the band very much. I wish they sound now like that.

Re: Whitesnake live in the 90's
1997 was probably the worst I've ever heard DC's voice. It was very reedy and thin.

I also was under the impression that he wasn't doing well in 1997, but this clip shows that he's a *lot* better there than today.
The band performance also makes it evident just how must current WS is overplaying.
I'm sorry I never got to see the 1997 tour, indeed the Last Hurrah.

That’s right Daniel, it was a funny period 97 WS, his farewell tour supposedly. And to be fair, he wasn’t seen again until 2000 ish with Into the Light. I saw them at Shepherds Bush Empire, and have good memories though the band appeared to be ordinary. In retrospect that perhaps was no bad thing, I much prefer Adrian and this Mister Mister guy to Reb and Joel, Doug even. WS has become a greatest hits nonsense in recent years. That 97 tour was much more interesting setlist wise, he also was taking requests from the crowd to sing bits of old/obscure tracks from earlier LPs.
