think you maybe posted the wrong clip. This is Ian Paice with a DP Tribute band. They sound god at what they are doing and Paice is doing well. He always was a great drummer.

Catch the first 2-3 minutes of this show from 2016. It's surely time to stop doing live shows with that material, or get the band to drop a step so you can still sing it and be even vaguely in tune. Not really a great vocal here at all, much roaring and shouting but not much joy!

The new studio stuff sound very generic, in a modern metal sort of way, obviously the vocals in the studio are stronger and doubtless auto-tuned/pitch corrected, but he's showing his age now, like many of these great rock vocalists.

Saw him live back in the day with Rainbow and he was great then.

Hes finished as a live singer its now embarrassing emoticon

Yes I agree 100%, he's well past it as a live singer. Not even sure he can hack it now in the studio either. Natural ageing, Years of boozing and smoking have done their work on his voice. He doesn't sing as much as roar and shout now, it's not pleasant and in this clip he's a mile off point. I've heard various other clips that are every bit as bad some even worse. These days like that maggot JLT, he mostly plays in the small bars and clubs where it's usually no-name local bands rather than "touring acts". Mostly these local bands would wipe the floor with Mr Bonnet now. Time to retire gracefully I suspect has been and gone.

Would I pay to see this ............
not a hope, never in a million years.
Would I go to see this .............
not if you bought me a ticket and threw in a chauffeur driven limo and champagne all night!!

Dreadful stuff.

I don't particulary like his voice, never have. But I think these days he's singing as bad as he ever sung, not necessarily worse.

Just saw him with Michael Schenker, hes not a no name.

I thought he sounded very good and so did the people I talked to after the show.

And check out the online reviews of recent Schenker fest shows, nothing bad to say at all.

spoke to a guy I know who is a promoter. He books alot of gigs with the likes of GB, JLT, Glenn Hughes etc (and acts with similar drawing power...)

Between the lines he said that GB relies heavily on tracks these days....

Never seen him live myself, but his performance on the recent Michael Schenker Fest DVD (from japan) is not very good, and his vocals on the new Michael Schenker album are not top notch either...
I'm not surprised though, with his style of singing. It's bound to catch up...

Don't get me wrong back in the day GB had some voice, but like a lot of these guys, that time has long since passed. Listen to Gillan even 20 years ago he was well passed it and yet he's still doing it somehow today, he's adapted a bit.

It must be hard for a singer, as he ages, when his instrument( his voice ) stops working like it used to. At least a guitarist can play slower or differently, whereas the singer perhaps can't change his style. Then again, singers do adapt and perhaps if he didn't try to be himself from 30+ years ago it would sound altogether better all round and he still sound good, though different.

I disagree he's far far worse then he used to be IMHO .I was never a huge fan of his live singing, for me he was always a bit of a shouter but he had a hell of a set of pipes back in the day, now theres just nothing left sadly
