I know it's been a long time since we chatted but three responses emoticon

On reflection, I agree, Bananas could be a good opener. I'm not into HoP like most of the forum

Is there a boot going around of the Reno show with Satch, FLIHSC?

I certainly wish there was,I'm an active
boot trader and constant seeker and I have yet to see it on any list's.
I have dealing's right now with 30 something traders and most of them have extensive list's but so far no sign of it. emoticon

Btw MrEd,you don't have to say it three times, what happened there?
-----------------
MrEd seems to think a song from Bananas would be a good opener?
I do not share this poinion,
Fingers To The Bone? That's a great song but as an opener, what's the point?
They didn't even do it much justice live anyway.
We would all like some of our faves to be the opener but it only makes sence to open with something that has a direct impact or fimiliarity with the bulk of the crowd.

Personally I have never seen a better opener than Ted,and I'm not speaking of when I saw them do it in OZ,they were a bit
road rashed by then so even TA is not a great example of it,I'm talking at the begining of the world tour when I saw them at Univeral Studio's Ca, they played it with such an in your face attitude and boldness
that when I looked around,
the place instantly
rose to their feet with ear to ear grin's on thier faces and it set the tone for the whole rest of the show.
Simply shocking and stunning performance throughout. emoticon

MOTSM played by Morse? emoticon
I'd second the idea of a Bananas opener; THoP can do the job for me. Otherwise Fireball is definetly a wiser choice than HS.

I know, I know...the internet has been getting funky the last couple of days, or maybe it was my computer...think it might've been my hooves or something?!? emoticon
I think a lot of the time that a good opener might be based on more of a reflective viewpoint, you know the "It fits (works) because it was" thing.
It's kinda funny, but for a person (me) who's given broadsides for basically being "stuck" or living in the past by various fellow forum members, I'm usually one of the more 'vocal', if not always the first, to demand more material from the newer releases in the set lists and now, an opener from the latest release.
Irony is a funny thing! emoticon

Yes!!!! Now theres a great idea, and then they can close with Do You Close Your Eyes and The Smiley One can finally smash that toneless piece of !@#$ Musicman guitar of his and get a Strat. Of course, then he would have to learn to play with feeling and attitude.

I would just be happy to hear Burn again. As much as I like Highway Star a new opening song might breath new life into a Purple concert.

Wonder if they have tried out Hard Lovin' Man during any sessions?

Image then, with a lenghty bass section poundering along for a while... ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding (this is supposed to be dark and heavy ding-ding's, like on the record) and then the guitar breaks in: cha-chacha-cha-chacha-cha-chacha-cha-cha... and then enter drums & roaring organ...

Can't believe they haven't tried something like this!
