Re: First U.S. show and setlist

Well hell, they transposed KAYBD right from the beginning which makes you wonder why they just didn't record it in the lower key to start with...

Well the way they've been butchering most of the mkII material ever since RB left, transposing PS is the least of their ''crimes''. emoticon

Just out of curiosity, do you like that song?

It wasn't my idea to play it. But yeah, always liked it and since I never was into playing heavy or hard rock, that song was more enjoyable to play than most DP songs - I'd imagine.

Took a short listen to Perfect Strangers from Wacken now. Oh dear. Sorry, but I can't stand this for longer than 30 seconds. I never liked the way Steve plays this song anyway, but being downtuned (or transposed like the musicians say) it sounds simply horrible to my ears. All the majesty which once surrounded the song is completely gone. I have heard various Mk Morse versions of Mk II songs I liked (No One Came, Hard Lovin' Man, Maybe I'm A Leo), but this one is one more reason for me to stay off the shows. I don't wanna look what they've done to their song.

To be honest - downtuned Strangers sounds a bit "darker" than original version. Also - as guy who always prefered SM´s versions of Perfect Strangers over Ritchie´s live versions - I have no issue with this. It worked fantastic during 2011 orchestra tour (and since then) and because it´s easier for IG to sing it like that - it´s fine to see him to hold those long notes at the end of verses again.

Very nice clip from Bergen (22nd July) - really good version of Highway Star!

Indeed. Before mobile phone age they enjoyed the shows, now they document them.

Band seems to be playing very well on this [sign in to see URL] of very positive press [sign in to see URL] good that they don't tour as much anymore and put in about 50-80 shows/[sign in to see URL] from the 100+ from about 5 years ago.

I would have seen them but they didnt venture to Florida and the set list is mostly the same as from last year. Hope to see them again at some point in the future.
