Perfect Strangers Live 1984

This was on the Sky Arts channel last night. Better to watch the DVD of course because there are no commercial breaks, but I watched it anyway emoticon

But I'm confused about where this show is from. It is Sydney or Melbourne?

The DTB review of the DVD is sure it was Sydney [sign in to see URL]%E2%80%A2-cd-dvd/deep-purple-%E2%80%A2-perfect-strangers-live-1984/

But at one point, I'm SURE Gillan says something like "Thank you Melbourne". Has anyone else caught this? I can't remember what song it was in, so maybe I dreamed it!

Maybe I'll have to watch it again to check...

I remember there being confusion when it was first released as well, first they said Sydney but then like you said, Gillan did mention Melbourne.

Well it sure should have been Melbourne as it was much better. I don't like this release much. Setlist isn't too exciting, RB is too sloppy/careless/whatever he was going through, Gillan starts out great then quickly losses steam (still better than any live release post this though) and no camera behind Lord. It works even worse as an audio CD, I'd toss it out if I just heard the cd's. The DVD is at least somewhat entertaining.
