Re: European Tour 2015
Its my understanding that Glenn had substantial input with that song, but due to legalities in leaving Trapeze, he wasn't able to take credit. Much like what Plant had to do on the first LZ record.

Re: European Tour 2015
That could very well be true (similar thing happened to Bruce Dickinson on Maiden's Number of the Beast), although Coverdale said it was him "messing around" with an idea on Ritchie's guitar that was the beginning of the creation of Mistreated.
There's also this quote from Wikipedia:
"Glenn Hughes participated in song-writing, but wasn't given credit due to unexpired contractual obligations. However, the 30th anniversary edition of the album included Hughes in the credits for all the tracks except "Sail Away", "Mistreated", "'A' 200" and the bonus track "Coronarias Redig""

Re: European Tour 2015
I asked this to Glenn a few years ago when I had an interview with him. He said he heard the riff from an acoustic demo Ritchie had, very early on, before the arrival of David. Then one day Glenn and Ian were jamming on that kind of "stomping" groove and Blackmore joined in, pulling that riff out of the hat.
True that Glenn was left out from the Burn credits for contractual reasons; it's interesting to see who and when started using his name in the credits first, as he always did it while Purple, Whitesnake, etc. didn't.

Re: European Tour 2015
That's a cool bit of inside info, thanks for that.
In any case, I never felt it suited him very well, that song really needs a big, bluesy voice, not to mention he always seemed to basically treat it as a showcase for his vocals rather than actually focusing on the emotion in the lyrics.
