We have Nick and the nasty habits doing MKI and now WhiteSnake doing MKIII and MKIV. It doesn't get better than this! nondisclosed_email@example.com (doggone)Sat, 06 Jun 2015 10:17:59 +0000 Re: Nick Simper/Nasty Habits Live at Szene Vienna 2011 CD/DVDhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p490824,from=rss#post490824https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p490824,from=rss#post490824I wish they played in the States. I'd love to see tchem live. I purchased the DVD, and I also have a CD, and it's really fantastic to hear these great songs finally played live.nondisclosed_email@example.com (SixtyNine)Fri, 05 Jun 2015 11:50:54 +0000 Re: Nick Simper/Nasty Habits Live at Szene Vienna 2011 CD/DVDhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p488559,from=rss#post488559https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p488559,from=rss#post488559Thanks for the review, Doggone! I really dig the album, too.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rezi)Sat, 21 Mar 2015 18:36:53 +0000 Nick Simper/Nasty Habits Live at Szene Vienna 2011 CD/DVDhttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p488553,from=rss#post488553https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p488553,from=rss#post488553Being a MKI fan, I found this online and decided to buy it. WOW am I shocked. They play 11 MKI songs plus one of 1 of the Nasty habits and Roadhouse Blues. I was expecting them to play the MKI songs note for note but, by golly, they instead to do like real Purple and extend most of the songs out(unlike today's version of DP). Highlites are a blistering MR which would make Jon proud, Emmaretta with a drum solo leading into Chasing Shadows with the keyboard player playing a few bars of The Mule at the end. A brilliant WTN with back and forth solos between organ and guitar. The organist gets a solo spot here where he plays organ and piano. It is damn good. The entire CD/DVD is a high spot. If I had to compare it to DP I would say this is what these songs would have sounded like if played on the 1993 MKII tour, tight with good improvisation. The drummer met Jon Lord and Jon showed him how WTN is played. Ad for Nick, it's great seeing him play THAT bass line he started in MR and which has lasted almost the entire DP's life(now in Hell to Pay). I hate to sound so positive but IMHO this is just a great CD/DVD.nondisclosed_email@example.com (doggone)Sat, 21 Mar 2015 16:21:38 +0000
