Blackmores' Strats pushing $4000....

http://www.onlinerock.com/mf_store/guitar/a/Artist_Signature_Electric_Guitars/Fender_Ritchie_Blackmore_Signature__510839.htm

Still out and availible, but very exspensive!

If I recall, they were about $900 when they came out....but that was a loooong time ago!

I paged through it, saw Framptons' Gibson, Epiphones, Nunos' Washburn, Ibanez, etc... and Ive always thought Fender Strats are just one of the sleekest guitars there are (Gibsons, in general, are just plain UGLY!)

I notice Blackmores guitar is more the rarity, as it out prices all by an average of $1500....obviously not a guitar for the beginner (unless your sealing it in a glass box!)

I'm sure Brian already has this guitar and it's been signed by Blackers, too.

I had a jap Strat, a Squier Strat, and a Yamaha acoustic, and will tell you $400 was often over budget. You can usually get a decent guitar for that price...mabye up to $600....but once we are talking $1000....OUCH!

Those $900 ones were made in Japan, you can still get those if you import one yourself but that one up there is made in the Custom Shop and has several different features.

All guitars are overpriced, even though the US one is nearly $3000 more than the Japanese one, the cost of making it is perhaps only $200-250 more.

I bought my Jap model in 1997 for $699 from Sam Ash. Before the CS model went into production they were taking orders for the Non Roland for $2600 and the Roland for $2900. Almost two years later when the first ones finally came off the line the price for each had gone up to$3200 (list $3800) for the Non Roland and $3800 (list $4200)for the Roland ready. Since I ordered mine when it was $2600 (list $3200) that's what I paid. There were only 25 to come off the first run and mine was #1. I know of a second run but don't know how many came off.
Of course now with Rithies signature on both, they are priceless.

Are you kidding, I have to hide it from her. She would sell them in a minute and threatens to do so after I'm gone. She's gonna have to go before me cause they're comin with me.

I was the first to place an order and since they didn't actually get made until 2 years later the list price had gone up considerably. The Guitar Center who placed the order, and Fender couldn't do anything about it because it was already paid for.

That's the way, Brian! (Notice I didn't "feminize" you into a "Briann" this time! emoticon )

Put me in you're will if you don't want the wife to sell them when you pass away Brian. emoticon

I would gladly do the same with my half of my
collection that has been accumulated since we were married,if we are to ever devorce that is.

My collection up to the time we were married is in storage at my mothers house because of better home owners insurence rates, yes it's insured and I would insure those guitars if I were you. emoticon
