Which Blackmore rumour?
I've heard he and Coverdale have been talking about working together again...DPAS have referenced it as well.
No idea if its on the cards at this stage.

Like Doug finished with on his Twitter (in reference to whom DC will be working with);
"I know who it is!! "

Re: Doug Aldrich leaves Whitesnake
DC in response to when they will announce replacement:
"No immediate plans, Sir, tho we're rather overwhelmed at how many players are putting their names forward. We shall see..."
With 2 studio albums in 12 years, maybe Doug simoly felt the need to join a more prolific entity which would allow him to create his own legacy to a larger extent?
Plus, remarried and with a son maybe he simply wanted to do a "DC" - ie, being a ruler of his own time, so to speak.
Plus maybe he had an offer to join another band? I don't think he'd quit WS for Burning Rain.

hmm well I've always felt that Blackers and DC were a great songwriting team and had unfinished business, but I can't help but think its all too late really? In that I'm not sure that either still has it in them to create much anymore? It will be very interesting to find out though

Re: Doug Aldrich leaves Whitesnake
Wouldn't mind hearing it, but only if they create new music together. A BN reworking of SOF with DC guesting is of no interest.

It certainly would be interesting. I cant think of two Purple people whose current music style is further apart than RB and DC!

Yes, but both need a change of style so maybe it could work

Re: Doug Aldrich leaves Whitesnake
In my opinion Doug going (and knowing who Coverdale is going to work with) means it's a name, rather than a relatively unknown Doug replacement. I don't see why his writing partner would leave to be replaced by another faceless player. These are my options:
A project (live, studio or both) with Blackmore.
Live shows in UK and Europe with Page and possibly a CP reissue.
An acoustic Whitesnake thing with Vandenburg and Marsden.
Sykes again. Don't do it David, please.

Re: Doug Aldrich leaves Whitesnake
I think we can cross out Page.
But as unlikely as it seems, maybe Blackmore, since DA mentioned DC had "big plans".
Curious about DA's wording "I needed to walk away. All will be revealed in time".
It seems they came to a crossroads of sort?
Otoh, DC mentioning "overwhelmed by the volume of people putting their names forwards" suggests he's just going to get a new guy in and continue down the safe road with WS.
Maybe a short project with Blackmore or Marsden and then a new shred player in and resumed action with WS?

Re: Doug Aldrich leaves Whitesnake
That last sentence might well be correct, although personally I would not rule out Page. Now that he's finished with the LZ remasters he might well be at a loose end.
The issue with Blackmore might well be one of trust after all these years. Blackmore is nearly 10 years older than David...after all the minstrel nonsense, can he still cut it in a rock n' roll band?
I see that someone has posted on his BBS that he hopes David will now return to his roots and give up on the HM version of Whitesnake. I really hope so and I hope big plans doesn't mean Sykes!!!!!!
We'll see.
