Re: Graz

Always funny seeing pics from those European dates. In the US you imagined them to have been playing enormodomes around this time, yet the Euro gigs look so small.

Found this piece of text online:

"Fans get another opportunity to dig into Deep Purple‘s Mk III era with the upcoming release of the oft-bootlegged ‘Graz 1975,’ long considered the best concert performance ever by David Coverdale, Ritchie Blackmore, Glenn Hughes, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.

I have never heard anyone say Graz is the best Mk3 concert, but here's to hoping it will turn out to be!

I do not know if it is really from Graz as it says on you tube but if it is its very good by Blackmore and Paice.
Lord is somehow buried in the mix Coverdale laks aggresion and Hughes is to much in the mix with his sometimes messy bass playing. Just my thoughts after one listen.

Re: Graz

It certainly is not the best version of "Burn". The version of ST from this show(on Final Concerts) is the worst version I've ever heard. Lord sounds very subdued(maybe because he just found out that RB was leaving). I hope YFNO is the full version!!

Re: Graz

I don't care if the second disc would've only been 20min long, I would've gladly paid for a 2disc set if they had included the encores.

The full show, that's what it should be. Who the !@#$ - now, I don't mean Birch in 1976 - has the right to edit stuff away, drum solos, guitar solos, keys solos, a bassist whooping away? Non one!

Re: Graz

So they used the edited versions!!! Cheap so and so's!! I already ordered it. I hope "The Gypsy" is good. It's too bad that Simon Robinson isn't involved in releasing these shows. If it wasn't for him we never would have gotten the full 1975 Paris show(and other DP goodies).
