Rainbow supported BOC in the States in Sept/Oct 1979 then BOC (on their "Mirrors" tour) moved on to England where they toured with Magnum.
Rainbow decided to stay in America, cancelled their european tour, and went on with John Cougar opening. This show was probably recorded by some radio station there.

They also toured with Heart. I saw them with BOC, Heart and on their own here in Toledo and Deroit. Always a fine show.

I remember Ann Wilson on the radio advertising their show 'with the amazing Ritchie Blackmore'.

Several shows from the '79/'80 tour were professionally recorded. Good for us fans that several tapes are around as bootlegs, sad that an official live album never materialised, til now.
Anyway, this is a great show:

...and for anybody saying that Ritchie was too noisy and sloppy on this [sign in to see URL] out the solo in Love's no friend here at minute 8': for my ears it's perfeclty played and full of feeling! Always a highlight of these shows!

According to youtube, this has been taken down from youtube and the account terminated due to multiple notifications of copyright infringements. That is what I got when I tried to check it out. i'm sure that it is available somewhere. emoticon
