Rainbow "Lost in Denver 1979"
Several shows from the '79/'80 tour were professionally recorded. Good for us fans that several tapes are around as bootlegs, sad that an official live album never materialised, til now.
Anyway, this is a great show:

...and for anybody saying that Ritchie was too noisy and sloppy on this tour...check out the solo in Love's no friend here at minute 8': for my ears it's perfeclty played and full of feeling! Always a highlight of these shows!

I think it's pretty much the whole show, even though listening carefully it's possible to spot a few little cuts.
It pretty easy to find as mp3 on the web. I'd love to find a properly printed copy.

Re: Rainbow "Lost in Denver 1979"
There should be the full show available somewhere, as Rainbow were headlining at the time. (16/11/1979)
Setlist should go something like;
Eyes Of The World-Love's No Friend-Since You Been Gone-All Night Long-Lost In Hollywood-Man On The Silver Mountain-Long Live Rock'n'Roll.

Re: Rainbow "Lost in Denver 1979"
Rainbow supported BOC in the States in Sept/Oct 1979 then BOC (on their "Mirrors" tour) moved on to England where they toured with Magnum.
Rainbow decided to stay in America, cancelled their european tour, and went on with John Cougar opening. This show was probably recorded by some radio station there.

Rainbow supportes BOC on several US tours didn't they? I remember an old article in which we hear one of the band in-jokes was to start any sentence with "when I was in Blue Oyster Cult...".

Re: Rainbow "Lost in Denver 1979"
I've just got round to listening to these, inspired by the excellent Don Airey interview in the new classic rock. The Denver sound appears a bit thin, though great perfroamcne. Have downloaded the ‘DTE’ tour edition for later, seems to comprise of Denver, plus the Calderone NY and Chicago gigs.
Any thoughts from those who’ve heard?

Re:
Calderone is f*ucking awesome. Blackers last great whole gig (on record) until 1993
Love's no friend in particular. Mix is guitar-centric as well which is great. The other 2 gigs aren't so great sound wise.

Re: Rainbow "Lost in Denver 1979"
I bought the box set when it came out. Frustrating product with several absurd edits here & there. It's not even that they needed to do that to fit the shows in single discs. Just absurd. For now I'm still keeping my copy of "Down to frontier" with the same shows in full. I love this tour setlist, anyway.
