Hovewer it is not that easy as some albums are just very different and not easy to compare. In particular placement of Sleves and Masters

I personally found it quite easy to place Salve and Masters ! emoticon

The current winner is Perfect Strangers (5 #1 places) but it's been interesting to watch it fight it out with with Purpendicular (4 #1 places). Purpendicular could still win if a few more people post emoticon

Made a little ranking so far, with 9 points for the first, 8 for the second etc.

Here's the current look:

1 Perfect Strangers
2 Purpendicular
3 Now What ?!
4 The House of Blue Light
4 The Battle Rages On
6 Abandon
7 Bananas
8 Rapture of the Deep
9 Slaves and Masters

Perfect and Purp are up by a confortable margin, not far from each other around 90 points, followed by Now What more than 10 points behind but still more than 20 ahead of followers ! Next three are very close, and last 3 not far from each other either !

Re: Post-Reunion Albums

JLT haters ? It's a bit too simple. I for one am not a JLT hater, Bent Our of Shape is probably in my Rainbow Top 3 above Rising, and I really like is vocals, but honestly Slaves and Masters is not a good album to me. I don't like the sound, I don't like a lot of the tracks, and even the best of them get out weak due to the mix and the will to make it appealing to a certain audience and more "AOR" than Purple actually is.

I'm a Gillan fan, sure, but put Gillan on this album and I will not like it much more. It's really the global feel, the way Jon plays on this album is so much unlike him, and far from the stellar performance he puts on five years later on Purpendicular ! Yes, Blackers put out a few nice solos, but that's surely not enough for me to like an album !

I may understand that some of your like it, but saying the others don't just because JLT is singing on it isn't right I believe...
