Sounds great. Need to explore Gov't Mule more. Glenn needs to get back to singing like this, funk rock style.

While I'm not a fan of the "jam band" genre (Grateful Dead, Phish, Dave Matthews Band), Gov't Mule and the Allman's definitely get a pass.

Definitely check out Gov't Mule's s/t, Dose and Deep Ends Vol 1&2.

Go on, daniel! Gov't Mule are to me one of the best bands of the last 20 years! They are sometimes labeled as just a blues jam band but this is just not true: are Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Purple jam bands? They share that same 70's spontaneus approach to their music. Their music is certainly based on blues but also on hard rock, soul, r'n'b, funk, reagge, etc.
Warren Haynes is just one of the best guitarists ever. I'd suggest to you Dose and Deja Voodoo...

Great, great band. I've only explored them fairly recently too.

Re: New session with Gov't Mule

I'm listening to the new album "Shout!", a double studio album with the same songs sung by guest singers on the second cd. I'm quite impressed: maybe not as adventurous as earlier albums but still very very good. I feel like it's gonna take a few listens anyway to really get it. To read of Bonamassa as the "greatest living guitarist" while listening to Haynes solo on closing track "Bring on the music" is quite hilarious...
