RIP Gary Hopkins

I just heard that Gary Pickford Hopkins recently passed away. He is famous as the vocalist in rick Wakeman "Journey to the centre of the earth" but I prefer to remember him as the strong voice behind the two exellent Nick Simper's Warhorse albums. He also sang in Wild Turkey with Jethro Tull's Glenn Cornick, and later Bernie Marsden.
A minor but interesting part of the purple family is gone. Rip.

Ehm? Wasn't it Ashley Holt who sang on Warhorse albums? And yes, he also sang on Rick Wakeman's albums. Who is Gary Hopkins?

You're right, in my mind I mixed up the two, because both of them sang with Wakeman but it's Holt who sang with Warhorse.

Re: RIP Gary Hopkins

So his connection with Purple family is less than vague...
I've been also wondering who he was. How about removing this thread from "Simper & Evans" column and writing something about them both?...
