Yeah, and it seems the music is filtered through all the middle-of-the-road rock version of "blues" (Daniel, I know you really want me to give a special mention to G. Moore here. But he's not to blame for anything.).
If I want to hear blues nowdays, I'll put on Sonny Bow Williamson or Howlin Wolf.
Having said that, of later masters, I just got Robert Cray's "official bootleg" (I think it's a series of some kind, they also have a mid-1970s Lynyrd Skynyrd gig out) from 1987. Brilliant, but I like I referred to above, I saw Cray last summer was I was blown to bits. He's better than ever.

Had to give Robert Cray a listen. Sounds like your average middle of the road type of blues with very little in the way of individuality. Possibly even more generic than Bonamassa.
