If we get a Purple album with a great production I'm happy. Even if I will not enjoy the songs that much..

Re: ?!

Don't like that kind of synths AT ALL!
Sounds like Emerson, Lake & Purple...

So what do you have for the moment? Two intros with lots of synths, some hi-hat and a bit of guitar noise...

Let's hope the rest is all hammond and riffs!

Yes, let's hope so.. emoticon
Two intros like that, with no real direction, and one fanfare/synth-strings theme is enough..

I have assumption that these snippets are choised with formula not to show the songs so they chosen Long instrumental intros which are anyway Long for Purple standarts.

A good production won't make a good album. It helps, sure, but good songs are more important.

Re: ?!

It seems the production is much better this time. True, it will not make a good album, but the bad sound may ruin a good album. I loved ROTD, but the sound of this record marred the overall positive impression.

Of course, it is hard to judge having listened to the short bits, but the sound of the teasers gives hope.

It also seems they are going towards prog-rock direction. As a fan of prog-rock/metal, I am delighted. But I can imagine fans of a more straightforward rock n roll style might not be...emoticon

Re: ?!

Production-wise it sounds more like Purpendicular than ROTD, which is promising. However it's probably a very compressed sound file, so who knows, it might sound even better.
As for the synth, which to my ears also sounds a bit controversial within the classic DP sound, Airey has already proved and avid admirer of that kind of stuff on Back to Back, which for me is one of the weakest Purple tracks ever. Yet, that's his own stamp, and that's what makes him different to Lord.

?! Maybe it's Deep Purple's response to Led Zeppelin's four symbols ? emoticon for me sounds like Keith Emerson just came by the studio. The sounds seems be alright, I think Bob Ezrin have done a good job.Let's get rid of several of the small clip...I think it spoils the overall impression of the cd. Can't wait anymore ..please come on april 26

I wasn't worried about production at all; Bob Ezrin is an amazing producer. Like was pointed out, the most important factor is the material and if the songs aren't there, it won't matter how great the album sounds overall. I'm liking the hints to a proggier direction but like also was pointed out, we've only heard two short snippets so far. But based on those two short snippets, I'm really getting excited for this record!

Yep, it's very promising. I think it's actually the first album since Purpendicular that meets with so much excitement. If the writing matches the production standard it may as well bring back the attanetion DP deserves.
