Re: Sydney 84 DVD out late 2013

Yeah, I saw so many good shows on that tour, it'd be a shame if Paris was the only full documentation of it. I wonder how many of the HoBL shows were filmed? Would be cool to see a dvd from that tour as well before they dropped most of the songs from HoBL.

That would be great indeed!

Excerpts from the Vienna show are the closest thing to a real video testimony from that period, so far...

Dead or Alive from that show sounds (and looks) OK too...

Vienna 87 shows perfectly why I´m happy that Ritchie is gone and that Steve Morse is guitar player of band called Deep Purple. DP would be crucified after such a show these days! Ritchie mess almost every song during the show - Highway Star is DREADFUL, Strange Kind Of Woman - what a bad start, fooling around Woman From Tokyo is just embarrassing...

BTW - there is a full show available on youtube.

Do we know for sure that nothing was filmed? I find it hard to believe.

Especially since they were recording what seemed to be every show for what turned out to be Nobody's Perfect...seems they'd choose to film a few as well.

A DVD from 87/88 would be great. I think they did some fantastic gigs, on the nights Gillan was in fine form.

Vienna 87 was not the best night, but some ok audience footage - full show:

(Edit: Hear Blackmore shouting in Gillans mic at 4.29.. emoticon )

the 80s was a BAD decade for Blackers for whatever reason???Only Ritchie knows the answer to that! BUT 70s Blackmore was UNTOUCHABLE and 90s Blackmore was simply wonderful as well.Of course one cant forget that without Blackers then Steve would have NOTHING to play in a band called Deep Purple!!! emoticon
