Rainbow-Denver, Colorado 1979

Listening to this one right now, it seems to me the best recording of the Down to earth tour even if maybe not the hottest gig. Sounds almost like a professional recording and not just a soundboard tape. The balance is very good so you can really appreciate Don and Roger's work in the background (and prove definetly that Rog backing vocals are embarassingly awful). Graham is powerful and funny, changing lyrics here and there, singing that he "can't see a bloody thing" or "how are you" during the songs and even explaining his tastes regarding women in All night long. As usual for this tour, the highlight is a killer and expanded version of Lost in Hollywood. Ritchie playing is quiet throughout the show but clear and precise. His soloing on Love's no friend is sublime. I would love to see this gig officially released one day.

Hi,FDR:

I'm interested in bootleg CDs. I don't have any yet and don't know how to go about it.

I'd really like that Denver show.

If you could make me a copy (but if you can't, no tears), how would I reimburse you? Send you money and postage plus blank CDs?

The Bonnet era was my favorite. The only time I was Rainbow was in 1979. They were great.

Thanks.

Chatty

Hi Chatty,
if you happen to live near Verona, Italy I'd be more than happy to pass you a copy, over a pint of beer. Otherwise, I'd suggest you try links like this one: [sign in to see URL]

it's not that difficult, I'm old and totally useless in front of a computer so if I managed to do it you surely can as well! emoticon
