A funny thing happened at the cinema...

...while watching Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (a truly excellent film, if you accept it for what it is).

There's a scene with Gwynneth Paltrow going to the movies. As she's sitting down, before you even see what the movie is, you hear the music. Within the first three notes, I knew what the movie was, what the scene was, and what words I would hear next:

"Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas any more."

And the instant I heard it, I knew I would have to see White Noise. I bought my ticket (Carlisle) the next day emoticon

I hope they play a decent-length set. I've never gone to a gig just to see a support band before emoticon

Well if RJD sings Man On The Silver Mountain it´s at least the same or when Blackmore plays 16th Century Greensleeves it´s also about the same or...well, I´m sure there´s more.emoticon

I saw the Dio gig with McPurple a couple of months back and yes, it felt very rainbowish of course when he did the Rainbow songs but, this will be a whole set.
The missus is not that impressed with me taking her out to Uriah Heep etc for her birthday.....but she'll get over it. emoticon

I´ve seen Dio performing Man On The Silver Mountain and Jimmy Bain played Bass(though he´s replaced by Jeff Pilson now again.emoticon) and that was in a personnel sense probably the closest to classic Rainbow you can get today.emoticon

The highlight for me was when they played Stargazer, my absolute favorite rock song.
And then Gates of Babylon....fantastic. emoticon

And Jeff’s been replaced by Rudy Sarzo.

Dio: As for Jimmy, I thought he would be with us on this album. Our last tour with Maiden was successful. I thought everything was finally in place. I was very surprised. When Jimmy left, we were writing at the time.
