Blackmore you mean? He who wrote every note, every word, he who was behind everything, he who would've made MKII sound the exact same with totally different people in the band???
The band, MKII, was what it was because of the personell. MKI was totally different, MKIII was totally different and so was MKIV. All because of the personell.
I know how important Blackmore was to the band, but he's not here anymore. By his own decision he is in a world of his own making popdisco for those interested in anything Blackmore. I'll take the current Purple over anything Blackmore's done since March 1997.

Thats the one!
But on a serious note, im happy for you, I personally take what he has done since 97 over DP since that time and not only beacuse of him but for many different reasons. Though I still like current Purple but not really in a live situation. Though im happy for those who do.

The last Rainbow gig was in Denmark, March 1997. Git it?

Exactly. And I couldn't see it because I had to play some music myself for some people on that day. A friend of mine was there and said it was very enjoyable, including a meeting with a very friendly Cozy Powell (who was there with another band) backstage.

Re: Highway Star 2010
And it was possibly the biggest crowd the reunited "Rainbow" played for, some 30000 strong.
