Re: 1972 fever

Well you know what?....YES!
But(because there's always a but...)I don't especially like the re-master version (except for the bonus tracks).I think it's because I'm so used to the "older" sound and I don't like the fact that things have been cut out like "Ian Paice on the drums..YeeeS!".
But then again I have that "problem" with all dP's albums, where I've heard them so many times in the "original" version, it seems like there's something wrong with the re-mastered versions (like the endings on the MH...).
For me those are different albums, I couldn't sell my old records because I bought the re-mastered versions.

Purpletemple,
since you have been listening to MIJ for so long maybe you can tell me where I got my handle?(FLAHC)
It's in there somewhere if you didn't already know.

I TOO HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO IT SINCE IT CAME OUT AND I'M ONLY JUST APROACHING 40 THIS MONTH.
How can this be you ask?
Because I grew up on them in the house and got off to a very early start cause my folk's have good taste in music.

Btw to correct you from a previous post(Poor Boy Hero)
if you baught CIT when it came out then you were certainly old enough for the release of JCS because CIT came before JCS.
I read your post's carefully and you need to get your fact's straight. emoticon

Re: 1972 fever

Okay that's kind of a long story...but to make it short.
I was born in 1970, so I didn't buy MIJ when it came out.
But my brother who's 11 years older than me did, and since I was always in his room, I was listening-or hearing-dP's recordings probably since the first month I was born.
Now I clearly remember goin with my parents to a store and buying CTTB when it came out, and also I remember receiving for my 6th birthday DP III and Stormbringer...Those were the only two dP albums that I was missing at the time.

I also remember buying CIT (Ian Gillan Band)when it came out(or very shortly after) and being very confused about it being a dP album or not (you know being so young and hearin Gillan's voice and CIT and having that big DP sticker on the front cover...).

The JCS thing is a bit different. It is only 5 years ago that I bought the album.I'd heard it before (when I was a kid, and didn't like it...not Rock'n'nroll enough I suppose emoticon ), and never got myself a copy.I always assumed it had been released before CIT (wasn't it in 71 ?)...

As for your nickname...now that I know that it's somewhere on the album, I'll probably catch it the next time I listen to MIJ, but you also have to know that I listened to MIJ and all other dP's albums for years and years without understanding a single word that was said!I only learned English a few years ago...
Voila toute l'histoire, mon ami!

emoticon FatLarry - got your handle reference straightaway - good one! When I first joined the 'old' board, I assumed every song title/album name/band member handle would have been nabbed - hence my Whitesnake's Trouble track disguise.

Then it was pretty appropriate as I worked nightshifts, now I just stay up too late and don't get enough beauty sleep..... emoticon

I'd better get some ZZZZs in now - I just hope I don't have that recurring nightmare where I wake up at 7am and find out what Cher really looks like before her make-up team get to her.........

There you go Fatlarry...JCS was released in 70 and CIT in 75(according to THS discobiography). So my timeline ain't that screwed up(yes I dare using that word again!).
Don't tell me your name comes from lines you picked in Highway Star (fat tyres, car,...), that would be too obvious!
BTW happy birthday sometimes this month! emoticon

I apoligise for not knowing you weren't english,
I also usually look forward to your post's but you
probably didn't know that I find them interesting.
I'm from America, the least of Purples aimed markets,
so I tend to thrive on the European's for my
enthusiasm and before the internet boom,I was a mail order
record auction collecter with pen pal's in over 23 countries. This is the amount of countries my collection span's.JCS was 1971 and I apoligise again sincerely. emoticon

That's rather flatterin' it means that my English isn't that bad...or that you just assumed I was a bit retarded emoticon Anyway...
the good thing I'm learning here, is that I often thought I knew a lot about dP and was pretty unbeatable (having quite a good/big collection myself) and yet everyday I learn a bit more on this forum! For better and for worse! emoticon
Glad you find my posts interesting, although sometimes they're not suppose to be...

It wasn´t only on Made In Japan. I have some boots from the second half of 1972 and 1973 as well where they played it, and he never started it properly!
