Oslo, Norway, Nov 22nd

Just got the news that DP will be playing in Oslo Spektrum November 22nd. Sunday.

The promotor (Atomic) writes that we can look forward to hearing classics like Burn and Child In Time:-)

Sounds like pure bullshaite to me. Ian Gillan suddenly doing Burn? Why?
And Child In Time has not been in the setlist since appr 2001/2002, for very good reasons. Don't think I believe in this.

Btw, Oslo is the old and proper name. Kristiania is just a semi-modern version that didn't last for more than a couple of centuries. I'd vote they stick with Oslo now. Also, the name Christiania (slightly different spelled) is kind of taken, being a part of Copenhagen that attracts more tourists than any other place in Scandinavia, due to their local policy on certain non-hard drugs. I don't think Oslo will gain from any possible name confusion here.

A lot of people were against changing Leningrad to St Petersburg too.
Don't think many of those remain today.. emoticon

Yeah some people around here sure thinks that dP is "selling out".
Surely the Valle Hovin gig in '87 must have been a sold out show..? If I remember right they had some 25000 at that show.

"Seling out" ain't a very specific term. But I just ordered tickets for Oslo Spektrum and there sure ain't many left.

Appr. 25.000 at Valle Hovin ain't sold out, but I believe it was the biggest crowd to see Deep Purple in Norway ever.
I wasn't there, though. I discovered Deep Purple some two or three weeks after that gig. emoticon

I was at Valle, 14 yrs old and that was my first rock gig, so I remember it quite vividly:-) Special night.

Yes seems like the gig in november will be their best selling gig in Norway since 87...
