1st Family of Hard Rock
When you take a look at the Deep Purple family, you will notice that there are many bands that have included a member of Deep Purple or are few degrees of seperation away from Deep Purple that are some of the biggest hard rock acts in the world. This considered with how popular and influential Deep Purple has been, does that make the Deep Purple family the 1st Family of Hard Rock?

Re: 1st Family of Hard Rock
I, and you, and everyone else here would say a resounding YES, but there are those who are clueless.
DP are the highest pedigree of musicianship and class!
--- tastes great, less filling

Re: 1st Family of Hard Rock
I don't like Journey but check out
Pete Frame's family tree book,
you will be surprised.
But I don't think the fame issue is as addressed.

--- Well, I stood under your bedroom window
throwing up a brick.
No one came, I threw one more,
that really did the trick.

Re: 1st Family of Hard Rock
Being as they're British - at least through the early years, and still almost exclusively - I've always thought of Deep Purple as the "Royal Family" of rock...
