Chariots of Fire
Just bought that one last tuesday!
Fell asleep watching it though...
Also bought a cd from a greek band called Socrates and featuring Vangelis (1976).
A nice coincidence!
That's what quality cinema does for you!
I have never heard of that band (what a great name though), how is the album?
It's actually a very good album. Strong musicianship and vocals. Some songs are really a mix between hard rock and greek roots.
The production is top notch. really a pleasant surprise.
The album is called Phos, and it's their third one, but apparently the only one with Vangelis.

Re: Bought any new DVDs lately?
"Iron Maiden - British Heavy Metal" It's one of these weird releases, this time 4DVDs and a booklet, containing "archive interviews" and "unique insights". I'm not expecting too much, though at least they promise actual Maiden people are interviewed (e.g. Dennis Stratton), not some journos and unknown musicians, like on some of the same genre (e.g. the Rainbow "critical look" DVDs).
The booklet has the now obligatory (sadly) album-by-album, song-by-song "analyses". The appear worthless. And it's not just because the author thinks The Prisoner is a true Maiden classic whilst dismissing 22 Acacia Avenue, as a throwaway track.
Well, costed 15 euros. Will entertaing me, with some nice ale, on Friday night in near future.
