PERFECT STRANGERS was the first CD I ever purchased and it was because of the inclusion of "Not Responsible" which is a better song than almost half of the album. It still was on the album on its initial release, unfortunately just not on the LP. If I remember correctly, "Son of Alerik" first saw CD release on RITCHIE BLACKMORE ROCK PROFILE Vol 2, which I also purchased on release day. It was never released as a bonus track until the '99 remaster, which is vastly inferior to the original release because of poor mastering and the error that is at the end of "Hungry Daze". "Son of Alerik" is a brilliant jam session, but it was never intended for the album proper. 'Not Responsible' is better than everything on the album other than the title track. Was it on the cassette? nondisclosed_email@example.com (JSA1)Sun, 04 Sep 2022 02:49:34 +0000 Re: Choose 7...from Perfect Strangershttps://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p524248,from=rss#post524248https://bdeeppurplefanforum.runboard.com/p524248,from=rss#post524248Son of Alerik (the full version) was released in early 1985. The rest were pretty awful, now I've 'You Tubed' the titles suggested above, although Ritchie did come through with some superb guitary bits on some tracks. I wish I could download SoA on the internet but you have to buy the whole album to get it.
