News - solo album & gigs by Doogie

From Doogie's website

Friday 14th November 2008

Doogie is heading of to Athens for a solo show at Texas Necropolis (ex-Underworld Club) on Friday 5 December. He will be performing songs from his time in Rainbow, Cornerstone and Empire as well as a couple of favourites from Maiden and Purple.

"I am really excited to be doing this show. I have never been to Greece before but have many "friends" there. I wanted to keep it exclusivley to material that I had written or contributed to but the promoter asked if I would do some covers. So I picked a couple that I hope that the metalheads in Athens will want to hear me sing."

Immediately on his return from Greece, Doogie flies to Frankfurt to record vocals from the English language version of the brand new album from Rata Blanca, the multi million selling Argentine band lead by guitarist Walter Giardino. "Walter and I have known each other for years and he is truely an inspirational guitarist. We have been trying to find some musical adventure to do together and this popped up. So I will be in Germany for the first time in a long time to record."

There will also be a Q&A with Doogie to be posted on his soon to be revamped website early in 2009. So if anyone has any questions for Doogie concerning his career please make contact through the address on his website.

Before heading off to Greece Doogie has 2 shows with Demon's Eye in Belgium and Germany.

In the meantime he continues to work on his solo album "As Yet Untitled".

The day Doogie plays in Athens.

Your son is visiting Athens and the Doogie show? If he would be so kind and ask that's great. I will get written a: "something especially" then emoticon emoticon

Anyway, you know I got something special from Doogie already. And you've documented it. emoticon

He wanted to go to Athens and was already looking for a cheap flight. But unfortunately he is in Amsterdam on an internship and can't get a few days off.

He originally wanted to go to Milan for an internship, but that fell through one week before he had to leave. So he had to find an other place. Which turned out to be 'closer' to home, in Amsterdam.

Yeah he is a real 'poor' student. Spends his money on all kinds of fun stuff, concerts and trips.

News from the Cornerstone website

December 1, 2008

Good people from the Cornerstone community.

Once again we want to thank you for your continued support, patience and good humour. The lack of information about what the band is doing is because until recently we were not sure what we were doing . The reasons are legion, many that are not for anyone but those concerned. We have not lost interest in what we do and everyone in the band is still keen to continue on the rocky course that we have set ourselves on.

I had a long chat with Steen and he sent me a couple of ideas he had. Unfortunately they were rubbish and I sent him back to redo everything...
Ah!!! but I lie my dear friends. The ideas [sign in to see URL]. Raw but dangerous and glorious.

The great great masterplan is that everybody will contribute in the songwriting process this time around, throw all of their killer ideas in the pond and produce another outstanding Cornerstone album.

Its difficult to say how the next year will pan out for the band. But I feel that we can have a new album in the next 12 months or so.

Maybe he's tired of all the trolling and nonsense posts here.

Don't remind us, Mr. Snip. The objective "embarrassing" is not enough to describe that idiots. Doogie White deserves better.
