When I think about it now, I am surprised that the teacher didn't say anything about the cover, and I was sooooooo innocent I didn't realise its meaning.

As for Whitesnake and not thinking too much just what the sleeves, song lyrics and titles meant (you just assumed it was all about sex),

I am french speaking, and when I was 7 or so I didn't speak a word of english and neither did 99% of the people in the class room, so I don't think anybody paid attention to the lyrics.
I believe that teachers and parents, were at that time more open and indulgent than they would be now. I bet if a kid was to come in school with such drawing now, he'd get grounded and his parents some comments from the teacher and/or other parents.

Welcome back to the middle ages...

I actually have a theory about that middle ages thing! emoticon

I was older when I got into WS, and the anecdotes happened when I was about 14. Which doesn't mean I knew anything practical about sex!

Re: Your First Whitesnake Album?

It was the very first Whitesnake album "Trouble" on LP the week it came out and with the original white LP cover. The "first" WS album, that is if you classify the solo WS and Northwinds as both being solo albums (in the US did they not market the solo albums as Whitesnake the band?).

Incidentally, the solo WS and Northwinds LP's are two of my favourites, including of course the guest appearance of a certain R Glover and that track Blindman which I've always hiked up LOUD!!). Sounds very DP to me and maybe with Rog on that whatever it was moog instrument?

Re: Your First Whitesnake Album?

Whitesnake's American debut was the Snakebite album, which consisted of the Snakebite EP on side 1 and four tracks off of Northwinds on side 2. It was my first Whitesnake LP, which I bought a few days after hearing Ain't No Love In The Heart Of The City on the radio. I had no idea that Coverdale had released two solo albums overseas at that point and thought that this was his first post-Purple release.

My first Whitesnake cd was a "Very Best of Whitesnake" compilation.

I think my first actual album was "Live... In the Heart of the City", and my first studio album was "Ready and Willing"

Mine was Ready An' Willing. I *still* think that album is the cat's ass! Actually, I also think I'm one of about 10 or 12 people in the entire USA who actually bought that album when it came out.

It was probably Live...

I remember buying the Snakebite EP which had the live Aint No Love on it (about 78), Trouble then Lovehunter (saw this line up at Glasgow Apollo - AWESOME emoticon )

After that it all became pretty-boy USA rock stuff and I stopped listening.
