Re: DP in Russia

And it was okay for them to play in China?
China where each song went thru the censorship (some couldn't be played, at least for the Rolling stones concert). China which is the biggest communist entity. China which suffocates Tibet, and so on...

Nobody made a big fuzz about that, on the contrary, people were pleased to hear that dP was one of the first bands to play China.

If they wanna play Kremlin, do it, and prove the politics, music is above all that crap!

There is, for me, a bit difference between playing in a communist country (which China ain´t by the way, cause they have a market economy and not a planned economy, they are a dictatorship) from playing at "THE OFFICE" of a dictator.

Wikipedia being what it is, I cannot be 100% sure but it seems like China is still communist:
"Today, mainland China is administered by the People's Republic of China—a one-party state under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party..."

Ok, purpletemple:
Does China have a market economy or a planned economy?
If China has a market economy, then are China a communist state? Not even Cuba are a genuine communist state these days.

Communism is dead! emoticon (apart from North Korea that is, and maybe one or two countries in Africa...)

"Communism is dead!" No, it's not! I live in Norway, and we're the last of the communist states... Rules and regulations and taxes all over the place!

To be honest I don't know what kind of economy they have...I don't exactly know what communism would mean these days anyway, since it has been taking away from its original idea (just like democracy or any system except maybe dictatorship)...
So I can only rely on what I read. I believe you...China is not communist, still they're not all politically clean either (and I guess that was my point to begin with), and I don't think their leader(s) are any better or worse than the Russian leaders, and THAT was my point.

Music SHOULD be over politics.

But to me playing in China is playing for the people of china, who should not be punished of not havig the chance to see the band they like because the were born in the wrong country, whereas playing in the kremlin in playing for the bosses of a country which is far from being democracy. I don't approve, but still, music business is as the name claims business, and what I like in the music business isn't the business, but the music, so I don't care too much about it, and I'll do what I can to see them this summer...
