Traveling Wilburys Collection

Got this over the holidays - includes a new remastered version of both volumes 1 and 3 and an accompanying dvd. What a great band!! I had totally forgot about them and was watching a video by tom petty the other day that reminded me of them. So I went to youtube checked out some videos I hadn't seen forever and was sold!! How can no go wrong having Jeff Lynne, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jim Keltner, Bob Dylan and the greatest rock and roll voice of all-time the big O Roy Orbison!! I can't stand Bob Dylan's singing but absolutely love the other guys especially the Big O!! Actually I like Dylan on the song Tweeter and the Mokey Man, that along with Inside Out, Handle With Care, Not alone Any More, She's My Baby, End of the Line are among my favorites!! The story of how and where they made the recording is incredible as well!. Highly recommended!

Last note Roy Orbison, will we ever see the likes again? I doubt it very much.

Haven't thought of them in a long time as well.

I only have Vol. 1, but it's a real solid album. Gonna break it out now.

The guitar work on She's My Baby is done by Gary Moore...

It sure was a great band, and they recorded some great tracks. Guess we will never see something like that again.

It says so on the cover of the original cd (that I bought as it was released, and gave it to my brother as a Christmas present). Typical Moore stuff btw...

After some furhter listens Volume 1 is indeed a classic. Righ up there with Shades of DP, IR, and MH. Volume 3 has some good songs but is clearly missing Orbison. I don't like Dylan's singing..never have.

Totally agree on all sentiments - part from not liking Dylan's voice. Whatever's wrong with it??? (Ok, better let it be)

I had a problem with Roy Orbison's voice to begin with, but it grew on me. The guy was outstanding both as a songwriter as well as performer. He was clearly and sadly missed on TW vol 3. I can still remember the news of his passing away - what a sad day that was. One of rock's all time greats. According to many, the greatest.

I don't know who would line up for something like TW again in the future. The likes of Liam Gallagher and Robin Williams? emoticon The times are truly changing. There's no turning back, and we're all on a highway to hell.
