...as of December 23rd, 2007.

* Of course, corrections to my dates are more than welcome! emoticon

** I should also say that this is a work in progress...some arrival/departure dates are 'optional' to each reader's perception of an 'official' date, i.e., some reflect an individual's last 'live' performance with the group, some, in the case of MkIV reflect the last live gig played by the lineup & the date the 'official' announcement was made concerning the group's break up; in the case of MkII(a), the beginning date is reportedly the date (April 27th, 1984) the 'official' announcement of the reunion was made; Gillan/Glover's arrival date(s) in 1969 also 'overlap' Evans/Simper's daparture dates, as it's well known & documented that Gillan & Glover recorded the "Hallelujah" single in early-through-mid June, while Evans & Simper were still officially members of DP - both - Evans & Simper - still playing live gigs with DP through July 4th, 1969...also, if the final 'tenure tallies' don't quite add up, it's only because I haven't gotten around to doing the math as precisely as it should be done yet.

^ The different dates are shown in order to reflect the time of Lord's last 'full' show as a member of DP, as the September dates were essentially a 'farewell/guest' series of appearances as a lot of dates between February & September were either cancelled or played with Don Airey 'depping' on Keyboards for Lord, and one can consider Airey's tenure beginning and Lord's ending by using either available date.

Great work Mr. Ed. But, to be quite honest, you should withdraw the time they spent at home with wife (and children). This can't not count as Deep Purple time.

Actually you should also substract the time they spent sleeping, flirting, having sex, drinking, eating, travelling, occupying the bathrooms or the hotel toilets, visiting their grand mother, buying stuff at the supermarket, reading books, listening to other bands, watching TV, or doing all those things at the same time...

I figured I'd leave all that detail you cited for our fellow forum member Nigel Young to cover in his long-awaited & much anticipated "Deep Purple Day By Night", Al. emoticon

Number of gig per band members for now (Zurich secret gig being the last included).

Roger Glover 1646
Ian Gillan 1597
Jon Lord 1384
Steve Morse 911
Ritchie Blackmore 896
Don Airey 505
David Coverdale 158
Glenn Hughes 158

If you want it, here the page from my website with the yearly gig statistics, for each "geographical zone"; http://users.skynet.be/deep-purple/statsconcerts.html

It's in french but understandable I think...

Great job!! Very interesting and it gives an idea of how it will feel for the guys to retire and stay at home in their rocking chair...
