Re: What's up for 2008?

Just out of curiosity, where can I find some of the aforementioned interviews with Steve? I seem to have missed them all!!!

And all this time I thought that Steve was a happy chap??? emoticon

Here's a few quotes from the websites(deeppurplehub.proboards31.com,deeppurple.org

On deeppurple.org he has two quotes:
"The amount of time we spend on the road has been the one thing that stresses me out more than anything else. On the one hand, I love the band, and it's just fun to play with them. On the other hand, I really miss my family, and the home time. I also wish I could have a big chunk of time off to do a project with my band. But.........reality is what you get." (September 26.07 Q/A)

It continues to say:

" The band is at a great point in their career with opportunities everywhere, and I'm the only one wishing for more time at home!"

Also, from the Deep Purple Hub in reference to a possible solo project(August 07'):

"the only way I could do is would be to quit Purple and I can't do that. Like right now, we've already passed the go, no go point for 2008 of doing it. And because we couldn't definitely carve out the time with any level of assurance, we had to say no. It's repeatedly happened and that's disappointing. It's one of the inevitable trade-offs you make being in any kind of group, is that you have to say that group's schedule comes first."

Thank's!

He sounds a bit frustrated, but not enough to leave the band.

Since they have more than enough planned for 2008...no MKII reunion??? emoticon

Hmm.. why don't you all read Steve's latest notes from the road.
That should answer all your questions.

Very thoughtful notes too.

Well, it's not chrystal clear, but you might interpret this in a way that says that Steve Morse is quitting Deep Purple.

I really don't think so... Here's a quote;

quote:

I always miss being home, but do now have a little bit of relief to hear that my son did well on his school grades, or at a gig. His whole life has been me being there every day for some time, then being gone every day for a time, so he knows it and accepts it. My wife and stepchildren haven't known me for their whole lives, but are also used to this routine. I am finally accepting it, long after everyone else in my life has. I have always wanted to play gigs when I'm home for a long period of time, just not for weeks upon weeks in a row. But if you must be gone for over a month at a time, this is a great way to travel, right now, sitting on our little turboprop plane, jumping all over Europe.
