It might be a good idea, if they do a complete new version, aqoustic or otherwise rearranged. But how much I ever love Bloodsucker, and purple to dust it off, I can't really see why they had to record it over again like they did.
Acoustic version of Woman from Tokyo would sound cool I think.

Re: Bloodsucker/Bludsucker
I have an acoustic version of WFT
recorded on the Rockline.
If anyone wants to hear what a rerecorded
version of MH sounds like.
I suggest getting the dvd audio,it's the closest to it you'll get.
We're talking miles apart from the original
sound.

That was a silly move to say the least. The power of that song was in Gillans screams and approach and it seemed stupid to re-do it after all these years and Gillan not having the voice to pull it off again.
Why re-do any of them in the studio is beyond me. Unless it's a completely different feel like BN did with Self Portrait.

What the hell is so hard to believe about that,I have three different radio acoustic
recordings of Purple.
The one with WFT was filmed and some day I'll have a copy,Gillan playing acoustic with Roger and Steve.(I've seen a clip)
WFT actually sounds great and is a full version. (vocals anyway)
As soon as we get around to doing some trading I'll send you a tape atle.

Re: Bloodsucker/Bludsucker
Why/how does the dvd audio sound so very different? What's done to it?

Re: Bloodsucker/Bludsucker
It's chanelled through six speakers and a sub woofer, dolby digital 6.1(DTS)
Filling the room with amazing sound
as if you are there at the time of the recording, and will have you looking around the room for the band.
I !@#$ you not, this has to be heard on the
the proper equipment to be believed.
There are also quite a few noticable
different sounds throughout because it's remastered from the quaraphonic mix.
The most incredible thing you are likely to witness, believe me or not.
It both brings the album into the now and
takes you back to 1972 at the same time.
Absolutely mind blowing, but you have to have
dvd Audio DTS surround sound home theater to
witness the full effect.
Plenty of wattage on your system helps a great deal as well.
(I still wonder if the band has heard this yet?)
