Fools
Did DP MK2 ever play Fools live at any time?I know Blackers used to incorporate the Fools solo into the live versions of Space Trucking but did the band ever play it in whole live?I know MK Morse played it live but Jon did RBs solo part on the Keys(dont know why SM never attempted it maybe the guitarists amongst us can tell me if it was a difficult thing to reproduce) but i did like this version and SM did a brilliant solo on the version i have (from the Perehilion DVD)

It's a simple thing to play on guitar, and Morse have played more complicated things using the same technique...so I would say that it was probably a way to get Jon into the song.

The guitar solo part is rather easy, but I was surprised when I got the chance to ask Don Airey (on the DP Hub) what song he found the most difficult to learn and play in the DP setlist. He answered "Fools"...

I didn't know MkII played "No One Came" live. "Anyone's Daughter" was only played by MkII(c) if I'm not mistaken.

They did NOC in Camden in 1971. So far there has not been a boot of that show. They also did Anyone's Daughter there (as well as in at least Toronto and Birmingham). One report mentions RB played AD on ACOUSTIC guitar in that show! And the reviewer was not taking the Gibson as an acoustic guitar as he mentions both the Strat and the Gibson in his review.

Hi Light,
they did play Fools during the 2002 Ireland & UK Tour, I know it's not DP MkII, but you can read some reviews here, http://www.thehighwaystar.com/reviews/02-1.html I was at the Dublin Gig and remember it very well as the song lasted about 10mins and was fantastic & full of energy.
hope this helps you out.
Mark.

Re: Fools
More "Fools", I love "Guitar Job" from
Ritchie Blackmore's Rock Profile vol.1 you
can spot lots of "Fools" here, fun lp vs cd
the lp version is a little bit longer not
much I think around 1 min., "Fools" from
the boxset where Gillan ad-libbing are also
unique.
