Here it says that Whoosh is on 161 in the US on Aug 22?

161 if its true is a turd of a position...hopefully goes higher

Possibly this is due to the fact that there is not enough of actual albums to buy in the US? I mean physical.

I thought they look at presells, downloads etc...you maybe right. As of now that is their 2nd worst charting ever...TBRO was 192.

Third album reached 162 back in 1969, so we have an improvement here emoticon

Re: Whoosh! in album charts

I remember finding purpendicular by accident and from memory there was little promotion for abandon (the big breakfast appearance was to promote the tour which was selling badly out of London) .
Bananas and ROTD got coverage in the rock press with average reviews and the tours sold ok in the UK .
So it's not obvious to why the chart positions were so poor in the uk , Purpendicular was the Kerrang no1 album for two weeks I think, so maybe the rock market was in a poor state generally and general purple fans in the UK had yet to embrace MK Morse.
Or maybe the above albums are a load of rubbish and the last three are better! when I take the purple blinkers off.

Here in the U.S. I did not see any promotion for Purpendicular. Abandon got some promotion during their tour here with Dream Theater. The live album Come Hell or Highwater got more promotion than those 2 cd's and was easier to find in the CD shops.

Only two left on the shelf in Tesco earlier. Hopefully it doesn't fall too far down in the UK this week.
