Re:
I would love to remix:
Shades Of Deep Purple - because the original mix was done way too hasty.
The Book Of Taliesyn - because it sounds dated
In Rock - though the remix already done is ok, I wouldn't mind doing that myself, just for the fun of it
Burn - to make it sound more crispy, less dark
Battle Rages On - I don't fancy how the multitrack vocals are done
I would not touch Rapture Of The Deep, I like it as it is. I think it sounds like a fair attempt to recreate an early days sound, and to me it works.

Re: Which Purple Album Would You Remix?
Definitely Rapture , the drums and remove "back to back" "don't let go" and maybe "girls like that" and here we go, the controversial one Perfect strangers compared to other rock albums released around the time and also the pop music it sounded a bit cheap and thin . A remember taking my turn on the school ghetto blaster and building everyone up about the greatest band in the world being back and then playing the tape .... underwhelmed to say the least and to be honest I have been defending Purple ever since. Sorry to go off topic a bit . HOBL delivered more of what I wanted.

Agree with HOBL i really liked that album,PS sounded more like Rainbow with Gillan singing than DP IMHO .
Back to topic In Rock and MH could both do with being Remixed again they both sound dated and strangely the other "classic era" albums Fireball and WDWTWA actually "sound" better IMHO

Re: Which Purple Album Would You Remix?
More and more the idea sinks in that parties holding on to original tapes dont give a damn and will deny us fans the parts of recordings that might be as good as the rest of the songs, but faded out
Im getting old.
Stuff like that, unreleased moments/songs would make me a real happy camper.

I agree here. HOBL had a better DP vibe. JL and Blackers had some real excellent interaction not found on PS. Unfortunately, it was hurt by basically poor, or at least, iffy production and a very overdue release date.

Re:
I LOVE PS, but I would also love to hear it remixed because it would mean we would finally get the deluxe version that was announced when the record became 25 years old, which was 11 years ago...and still no remaster nor a proper collector's edition with all the bells and whistles for an album that was a hit and sold over 6 million copies. Had it been Pink Floyd, we would be treated to the nineteenth edition by now, with all sorts of paraphernalia thrown in for good measure, including the original socks worn by their roadies on the day they tracked the seventeenth take of Hungry Daze;-)
It's one of the very specific things the feuds inside the band are in my view responsible of, and I can't forgive. Pardon the rant.

Re:
Perfect Strangers. that album lacks any dynamics and sounds way too muddy.

Re: Which Purple Album Would You Remix?
I agree with mtb7. I'm still waiting for the last 3 shows of MKIII to be fully released. We have Paris, Graz is edited and Saarbrucken has never been released as a show by itself. How about the early MKI Canadian show, unless it's been lost again.

Re: Which Purple Album Would You Remix?
Rapture...
Sounds like a collection of demos which are not recorded very well !
Bananas could use some tweaks too - way to bright and compressed

Re: Which Purple Album Would You Remix?
When I listen to ROTD the old slogan they used to put on some records in the 1960's comes to mind "Recorded in Stereo but can also be played in Mono"
