First New Track

Is this a signal if first new track on 20th March? Or a first excerpt?

Hmm.....just a bunch of buzz and an old computer showing March 20. Could be something to spark some interest. We'll see tomorrow. emoticon

I think we'll get a full track, I don't think they'd create such a hype for a little excerpt

Re: First New Track

I heard it....
"Throw My Bones" it's great!
I like it, it's new to me in terms of the Purple sounds, the only downside is Steve Morse's guitar solo, can he stop doing that guitar style.

The song is 9/10, if not for the that same guitar style, that would be 10/10.

The bottom line is Deep Purple is back!!!

I hope coronavirus is contained by the time this new album is released. Stay healthy and stay home.

You are easy to satisfy. It is an ok track, boring guitar work (like most Morse’s solos). Nothing spectacular

Agree. On first listen, it's ok, not too bad but also not particularly inspiring or adventurous. Verse is good, the chorus anonymous. Instrumental passages at the beginning and before the solo are the most interesting bits. Wish it was true they had just seven lengthy pieces, but I fear we'll get 13 ok short ones.

Quite enjoyed it , releasing the snippets was a big mistake, the vocals sound much better than i feared. The guitar solo is similar in style to the one in birds of prey IMHO. The keyboard outro is a bit naff.

Just heard it and I really like it. Shows how the snippets were not any guide. Has revived my optimism for the album.

Guitar solo of Steve Morse is always the same. 😁

I can't wait for the new album.

Re:

Another Morse-era mid paced shuffle and another 'plaintive' lyrical approach. Minimal Hammond, though the keys through the song glue the thing together.
A decent song out of context though I hope the rest of the album has a bit more variety
