Usual question: were any shows filmed/recorded?

Spain certainly had a big screen feed, if nothing else..

I heard that the tapes of the screens were given to the band from Finland, Sweden and Spain - but there's no plans to release anything so far.

On Dimeadozen i just found recordings from Helsinki and Munich. Did the video hype kill the culture of doing good live audio recordings?

I think Candice hinted that one(?) of the 2018 gigs were recorded, at least for audio release - but I suppose that would have been out prior to the 2019 dates.

The clips from Spain certainly look like a good night in terms of vibes and audience reaction, so I would welcome a video release - even though the set list is stale

AFAIK all gigs in 2018 were recorded in audio form.

Hi.
Everybody records every show now on Logic/Protools. It aint hard but a fee must be paid to each venue if any part of the show is commercially released. However we don't get a share of money from the beer they sell when we play. emoticon)

May I have a cheeky question? Why there are almost none bands which would offer live recordings as concert merch in some sort of downloadable stuff in flac for 15 USD? I think that´s the biggest hole in concert industry which most of bands still "ignore". Having a chance to play almost "official" recording of particular show they attended… It´s actually not a competition against official live stuff, because these are different kind of customers. When you attend a gig in Munich, live performance recorded in London or New York for mainstream official release is simply not the same…

I don't know. I think a couple of bands tried this in the early 2000's but clearly it did not catch on or everyone would be doing it. Its just so easy for a touring band to have a laptop and Logic and do a recording of the show. No Mobiles or trucks as in the old days.
But can you imagine sitting and listening through 60 shows you just played to find a version of a song, the one that no one can agree is the best. Bloody nightmare.
Of course if one is a TMIB fan then it would be a joy to sit through the Rising or SIUA tour tapes (When, and it may just be me, he was at his Rainbow peaks) just to hear how outstanding he was at those times.
Maybe I should dig out the 15 or 20 odd shows I have from the desk with ambient mics included and have a listen. TDK C90s. I'll bet they forgot to turn them overemoticon) Or maybe it was DAT. I have a couple of those too.
Best check in the loft. Still it was a lifetime ago and no one cares any more. Least of all him.

the agony!!

RB at his peak, and with the best set list Rainbow ever had. Such a shame the Rockpalast with its limited production value is the best document there is :/

You should leak the tapes via someone else emoticon emoticon
