Re: Flesh and Blood delayed til 2019
Despite my initial misgivings, I'm definitely coming round to the album. I think the 3 tracks released prior to the full album do not represent the album as a whole, and may even have potentially put have people off of buying this album. Selecting these particular tracks to pre-release seems a very strange choice given that there are much stronger songs they could have gone with.
In the context of listening to the album however, these 3 songs work better. I should also stress (unsurprisingly) that the CD version of the album sounds much superior to the streamed version, and I've really enjoyed blasting the album in the car over the last couple of days.
It's interesting that most people here seem to be consistent with their thinking around the best tracks on the album, all of which I concur with. There are only 2 tracks that really don't do it for me at all- Sands of Time and If I Can't Have You.
In terms of where it sits alongside other WS albums, I think it's a better album than SOTT, and I also think it's better overall than both GTBB and Forevermore. There's still no denying that DC is hugely diminished vocally these days but despite a few shaky moments here and there, I think he just about gets away with it on this album, backed up by some terrific backing vocals.

I had no expectations for this LP and live of course his vocals are another matter, no disgrace there, the guys been belting it out for 40 years plus, and his peers are much the same.
I will say I think he performs fantastically well for the most part, and of course he can still pen a great tune. I'm just amazed at how good they all are. 7/8 crackers it seems, and the filler ain't too shabby either!

Re: Flesh and Blood delayed til 2019
I initially didn’t like the album at all. To my surprise it grew on me big time. Heart of Stone is right up there with the best Whitesnake songs. After All is brilliant. I’m going to give it a full airing again before I pass final verdict. Also DC tweeted out that FNB is going to hit #3 on the UK charts? Congrats to Whitesnake!

Really like bonus tracks If I Can't Have You and Sands of Time! Especially the second part of Sands. This album is so much more rock than Forevermore.

Re: Flesh and Blood delayed til 2019
Im now loving this album
I've been playing it constantly in the car and far from being the worst Whitesnake release( as some have said on here ?)for me its one of the best and most consistent albums DC has ever released post 87, its also more consistent than some of the "classic era" albums IMHO.Great stuff and all the more impressive given the stage of his career
He has a great band around him who also provide great backing vocals, all in all a very impressive album IMHO

Re:
It's No 3 in Germany. And according to DC No 7 in the UK (No 1 in Rock & Metal and Independent).
The No 1 in Japan was in a daily updated official chart there on the day of the release...
