I'm enjoying this. The unplugged stuff with Doug's pretty repetitive- particularly the multiple versions of Dog. However, there's also plenty good stuff amongst the 5 discs as well. I've no regrets at having bought this one

Got he box set and, to be honest, i wish i hadn't bothered. As Purple fan said above the unplugged stuff (and some of it's variable quality) is very repetitive. Not sure why they never did it with the whole band unplugged to give it some breadth. Some of the demos are poor. I'd say there's about 4 new tracks or mixes that engage but that represents poor value for £50+

Disc 5 "Up close and personal" is marvellous: to hear David with just a piano or a little guitar is so special. Ain't no doubt about my girl, Love's a crazy game, ...Some of these moments remind me so much of Northwinds. I remember when I was younger I used to think he was my favorite singer but all that metal glam stuff made me forget that. This disc makes me realize I wasn't wrong. For fans of the old band, I'd say this is essential stuff. What a voice he has when he wants to...
