What's immoral about that? It's just some research about a person, nothing intrusive (that I know of).

It seems like a some kind of treasure hunt/ mystery book.

I guess that Rod Evans isn't happy about that book, in case he knows about it.

I don't think he could care less. But that's just my impression.

Nothing immoral about this book, I thought it was a good read. If you search the net enough you can get some info on him, a former Captain Beyond member has said Rod is alive and well and he lives in a town on the coast in Southern Oregon.

Nothing wrong with this. Just finding out what has gone on with him over the years without intruding on his privacy would be interesting.

And it WOULD be interesting to get an interview from Rod Evans where he could tell us his side of the story(ies), and maybe potentially come out with a better image.

Maybe, and maybe not. I'm not so sure that the DP story, seen through Rod Evans glasses, is so interesting after all. Or would leave Evans with a better image if he told it.

My impression is that Rod Evans never grew very tight with the band. After the early US success, he had dreams of his own, Jon Lord mentioned once he wanted to become a movie star. And his singing changed from rock style to Humperdinck-style. Then he was fired from the band in a poor way.
The bogus-thing, I believe, did perhaps not look that bad at the time. Re-starting old succesful groups with a few new members was more common at the time. But when things failed around him, and time went on changing things, Rod Evans have been judged hard for something that may have looked like a good idea at the time.

All this resulting in two bitter law-suits, if I have got it right.

I believe Rod Evens have put all this behind him long ago and have no interest at all in digging this old dirt up once again. And I'm not sure I see any reason why he should.

Why hasn`t he toured as just Rod Evans (I presume he isn`t even allowed to use "Ex-Deep Purple"?) people know who he is, surely there has been a market for him and other musicians from the era since people got interested in the older bands again?
