Re: Graham Bonnet Band album

I’m working my way through it, the first track sounded like a not so great Yng/Alcatraz out take, the second track much better, with some dramatic Randy era Ozzy chord changes, then one called the Hotel….whcih was interesting.

I also flicked to the Starcarr lane live version, which was enjoyable, Graham quite understandably not able to recreate the original vocal melodies, still good though

Just saw him with Michael Schenker, hes not a no name.

I thought he sounded very good and so did the people I talked to after the show.

And check out the online reviews of recent Schenker fest shows, nothing bad to say at all.

Upcoming Saturday I'm going to see MSG Live Fest with Graham Bonnet (and the two other vocalists from MSG). Personally I am a great fan of GB and I think that the best albums ever were with him singing on it (Assault Attack, No Parole fro RnR, Down to Earth for example). Ok he's over 70 years of age, what do I expect? I think I'm just go and enjoy the show... ;-)

Eh...I don't find it so bad, really. I get your point, BSB. He probably could step it down a bit. At least he still has a fair amount of power left, as opposed to Gillan, who is weak and thin, especially on the classic DP stuff. emoticon

Just saw the Schenker Fest show two days ago in Italy. Amazing night, 2,5 hours. As good as every musician was on stage, I found Schenker to be the driving force, relentless, full of energy, always in full control. 20 years ago I never imagined he could reach again such levels!

I totally agree! Yesterday I attended the Schenker Fest in Amsterdam and it was a great gig. Almost three hours of rock; new song mixed with the oldies of Barden, McAuley and Bonnet and Dougie White. Some of the old songs are very hard for Bonnet but I noticed that Barden also had some trouble hitting the high notes.

All in all in was fun to those guys having a great time on stage!

I listened to Bonnet latest cd the other day and it is clear that those numbers are in more lower vocal range. And this is much better for him to sing and to listen to.

Ozzy's had live vocals offstage for years, Robert Mason was one of them. Idk, I think I would have less of an issue with this if they were more forthcoming with this info otherwise it just seems deceptive. DC has a lot of help from Reb, Joel and Michael but those are all live which is fine...

It’s four of them including Michele- who is actually the best singer in that band. He’s in a prog hard rock band called .Secret Sphere- just sings in it- awesome vocalist!

Apparently, Graham, Doogie and the rest of the gang are already back in the studio for a second Schenker Fest album. Good news!

...and according to his fb page, in may he'll tour Japan as Alcatrazz playing No parole and Down to earth in full plus other material, with the idea of releasing a live album fro these shows, then into the studio for a new Alcatrazz album (with almost the same line up as the GB band). When he'll find time for Schenker Fest, I don't know.
