He talks about that comparison in latest Blabbermouth interview and he also says he doesn't want a reunion with Ritchie.

He even has a new reason: It's too late now. Either it's too difficult, not promising enough, too much interferring with whatever, and now it's too late. Five years ago it probably would have been too early. What's the next reason, something astrological?

I only hope that he will allow the band to continue, if other members wants to, just like what Phil Mogg says in an interview that he will not stop UFO if they decides to continue without him.
Uli Jon Roth, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Eric Johnson, Paul Gilbert........
If they ever put Yngwie Malmsteen in Deep Purple, I'll make a huge pile of every Deep Purple item I own, LP's CD's, books, VHS, DVD, t-shirts, signed drumskin, and burn it.
Go to youtube and type "If Yngwie Malmsteen played for..." 😊😛🎸

Wingwang in DP would be a horrible choice...if Joe's plate isn't too full (which I think it is) I wouldn't be against him going back to DP.

It's too late for a reunion with Ritchie, but it's not too late for a Javelins reunion, his band from the early 1960s. It's not yet too late to have a reunion with Episode Six.

Re:
The "too late" excuse was pathetic as a stand alone comment, but to then compound his pathetic comment in the same interview to discuss reuniting Episode 6 just exposes IG as a little childish. Of course the whole world could be waiting eagerly for the Episode 6 reunion and I hadn't heard.

Re: Steve Morse saying its HIS farewell tour
The bottom line is that Ian Gillan was (based on his 70s work only) possibly the greatest rock voice we have ever heard? but he's an asshole! as is RB! .At this stage of the game i really dont care what they are doing today. They have left a legacy of music which has been the soundtrack of my life, and i would assume possibly many others on this forum? They are though only human with all the sh1t that brings with it.

The Javelins are sounding and looking good! IG`s voice seems to handle the material better as well?
